Pretrial for former Rochester City Council member Molly Dennis to begin Thursday
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Former Rochester City Council member Molly Dennis will be appearing in court Thursday morning for her ongoing federal discrimination lawsuit against Mayor Kim Norton and the city. Dennis will be appearing for a pretrial hearing.
Earlier in April, Dennis was warned to comply with federal court orders of communicating with the other parties ahead of the pretrial hearing, otherwise she would risk the lawsuit being thrown out.
Dennis first filed the lawsuit in early 2024. The former Ward 6 Council member alleges she was denied full access to public services, which would have prevented her from carrying out duties while she was still an elected council member.
Dennis said she believes the city retaliated against her for seeking accommodations due to her suffering from ADHD.
Dennis is seeking $50,000 in compensation.
