Congresswoman McCollum Mourns Tragedy at Reagan National Airport
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Betty McCollum released the following statement on Thursday after officials involved in the recovery operation for the tragic aircraft collision near Reagan National Airport indicated that there were no suspected survivors, making it the deadliest America aviation disaster in more than two decades.
“As we search for answers, I offer my prayers to the 60 passengers, 4 crew, and 3 servicemembers, and I offer my sincere condolences to their families.
“With recovery efforts underway and continuing in the days to come, our nation’s transportation and aerospace officials must learn as much as possible from this tragedy to prevent a similar accident from occurring in the future.”
