Public comment open for Minnesota cannabis regulation
ST. PAUL, Minn. (Northern News Now) - You can now let the State of Minnesota know your thoughts on the regulation of marijuana.
The Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) announced they have opened a 30-day public comment period and a notice to adopt expedited rules.
The state plans to make changes to rules and regulations based on reasonable feedback.
The rules will then be sent to a judge to confirm ahead of an approval or veto by Gov. Tim Walz.
After following those steps, OCM could publish the final adoption of rules in the State Register for adoption.
Those are expected within the first quarter of 2025.
OCM officials say this is a critical part of launching cannabis in Minnesota, and encourage the public to comment.
Comments can be submitted until Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 4:30 p.m.
